  2.           * MARY BURKOFF'S FIX FOR LODERUNNER IBM PC VERSION *

  4.           LODERUNNER by BRODERBUND is a good game with a very
  5.           interesting copy protection scheme. Since the program
  6.           ignores and overwrites DOS, and uses only BIOS calls,
  7.           debugging is difficult.
  8.           
  9.           Copies made with DISKCOPY won't work, and neither will most
  10.           copying programs. (i.e. COPYIIPC, etc.)
  11.           
  12.           Enclosed is LODRUN.COM which will ZAP LODERUNNER copies and
  13.           make them run the same as the original. In addition, ZAPPED
  14.           copies can be freely copied using DISKCOPY. (What more can
  15.           you ask for?)  To use LODRUN.COM, make a copy of LODERUNNER
  16.           using DOS DISKCOPY, then run LODRUN.COM and follow the
  17.           simple instructions.
  18.           
  19.           LODERUNNER cannot be installed on a fixed disk, since it is
  20.           a non-DOS program. You must always boot [Ctrl-Alt-Del] with
  21.           LODERUNNER in Drive A: in order to run it. You may discard
  22.           LODRUN.COM after you have ZAPPED yourself a copy. LODRUN.COM
  23.           also will work on your (God-Forbid) original. I don't know
  24.           if there is more than one version of LODERUNNER out there,
  25.           but if you have a different one, LODRUN.COM detects this and
  26.           reports it to you. It will not damage incompatable versions.
  27.           You can run LODRUN any number of times on the same disk,
  28.           although there's no reason to do this.
  29.           
  30.           LODRUN.COM uses interrupt 13h for corrections to your
  31.           LODERUNNER disk (The only way to do this easily). The "CD
  32.           13" code is disguised to avoid triggering "Trojan Horse"
  33.           detector programs. If you are suspicious, I suggest you
  34.           either single-step LODRUN using DEBUG (It's a short
  35.           program), or you use a PC without a fixed disk. LODRUN is
  36.           NOT a "Trojan Horse", however.
